"Mysteries of Myra," to

----------
The mystery about the Mysteries of Myra,
the Wharton, Inc., latest moving picture
serial, has been revealed.
"Ted" Wharton's silence in regard
to the character of this series which
a notable company has been working
on at the local studio for several weeks,
has finally been broken.
The first serial of the picture will be
released about April 25 by the International
Film Service, Inc., of New York City.
Ithaca exhibitors are negotiating for the
local rights of the picture which is said
to be "something entirely different" from
anything that has ever been attempted by
moving picture producers.
Directors Theodore Wharton and "Jim" Gordon
are said to have accomplished admirable
results in their work thus far.
And,by the way,the International Film Service
has a versatile press-agent, whoever he may be.
Here is what the "advance man" has to say
about the Mysteries of Myra.
Based on the science of psychology a new idea
in motion pictures is presented. It deals with
the actual experiences of the spiritualistic
seances, hypnotism and kindred subjects.
Woven into the story is a fine thread of romance,
gripping in its enthrallment and intense in its
interest. Here and there a bit of tragedy, a touch
of pathos and above all the mysterious power of
an unseen force is evident.
Foremost among the investigators of this
only partially accepted science of psychics
is Hereward Carrington, the noted and
accepted writer and authority.
Mr. Carrington has written the story around
which Charles W. Goddard, rightly considered
the most successful builder of serial and series
pictures, has constructed his scenario.
To the producers, the Wharton Brothers, has
been entrusted the difficult task of directing
this exacting series. Past performances have
established the Wharton Brothers as the premier
directors of motion picture series.
No less difficult than the story, the scenario or
the directing is the portrayal of the experiences
of Dr. Alden and Myra.
An extended and exhaustive canvas has been
made ending in the selection of Howard
Estabrook for the part of Dr. Alden and
Jean Sothern for that of Myra.
Both of these parts require, to a high degree,
the power to impress you with their every emotion.
Mr. Estabrook and Miss Sothern, the two leading
characters, have been found to be wonderfully
adapted for the work which they are to do.
